I'm back like 'Fast Eddie'.
Trump's wrestling match
Hi readers. I’m back like Fast Eddie Felson, cut up a bit, but no broken thumbs. Tuesday was our 58th wedding anniversary, so Susan and I celebrated it — not by choice — out at romantic Lake Forest Hospital, where I underwent life-saving surgery. As you can see, I survived thanks to the great doctors, nurses, and staff at LFH, who treated me with loving care and brilliance.
Now back home, I’m trying to get some writing done, but I keep falling asleep at the computer with help from Norco and whatever other wonder drugs are still in my system. Not so different from my college days.
While I had to cancel this and next week’s Hitting Left shows, my goal is to be back in the Studio, Friday, May 27th, with my guest Zayd Dohrn, playwright, screenwriter, and now author of the new memoir Dangerous, Dirty, Violent & Young: A Fugitive Family in the Revolutionary Underground.

I was totally news-blocked out during my hospital stay, but I did manage to catch wind of this.
NBC News reported that Trump is using a planned Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) event on his birthday, to be held on the White House lawn, as a new way for donors to funnel money to him. Although the UFC is paying for the event and expects to lose as much as $30 million on it, and although tickets are technically free, Trump is picking who gets most of the tickets.
Sponsorship packages that include ringside seats have been selling for $1 million or more. Neither the White House nor the UFC would comment on where the money is going.
Trump’s scheme has me considering staging a mud-wrestling match of my own, between brother Fred and me at my next birthday party.
