Anti-poverty organizers, Rev. Dr Liz Theoharis and Noam Sandweiss-Back
In the world’s richest country, in which mass poverty exists beside unprecedented plenty, we’re tired of just fending off the worst attacks. Too much ground is lost when our biggest wins are simply not losing past gains. Amid Trump’s cruelty and avarice, it’s time to fight for a new social contract – one that lifts from the bottom of society so that everybody rises. — How to fight back against Trump? Look to Poor People’s movements
Two years ago, everyone knew Biden was out of it. Now, everyone knows Trump is adrift. But they're all afraid to say it.
As for Biden,
One reason to dwell on the issue now, writes Pulitzer-winning journalist Seymour Hersh, is that Jake Tapper and Alex Thompson, the authors of Original Sin: President Biden's Decline, Its Cover-Up, and His Disastrous Choice to Run Again, had every reason to know something long before the election season. As a broadcaster with a national audience, Tapper did not conduct any reporting for the public on that issue when it mattered—when there was still time for the Democratic leadership to pressure Biden to withdraw and hold an open convention to select a new candidate.
And it’s not just Trump’s brain that’s addled; the DOGE-triggered brain drain has destroyed government science, endangered research, and left America fading to black.
As Mother Jones reports:
In science, land management, international aid, emergency response, national parks, and federal infrastructure, the effect is the same: a sudden, widespread uncertainty about basic things we once knew.
